Oleva Groff Slawson, 88, Iberia, died Nov. 17, 2001, at Brookhaven Nursing Center, Carrollton, Texas. She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Iberia, a daughter of Chester A. and Ellora Oleva Eads Groff. She was married April 9, 1939, in St. Louis, to Edward H. Slawson, who died June 2,1985.

A retired school teacher, she taught in rural Miller County schools and in the Crocker and Waynesville school districts. She was a member of Pulaski/Miller Cunty Area Retired Teachers Association and Iberia
Nazarene Church.

Survivors include: one son, Kenneth Edward Slawson, Carrollton,
Texas; one daughter, Virginia Milbourn, Iberia; one sister, Virginia Howard, Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Iberia Nazarene Church.
The Rev. Henry Shelly will officiate. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home, Ieria, and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Iberia Nazarene Church.

Olivia married Edward Hays SLAWSON in Apr 1938. Edward (son of James Lawrence SLAWSON and Laura CAPEHART) was born on 15 Sep 1912 in Iberia, Miller County, Missouri; died on 2 Jun 1985 in Iberia, Miller County, Missouri; was buried in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia, Miller Co., Missouri.
