Cecil Ray Faulk, age 81, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on November 29, 2023, in Ithaca, NY.

Cecil, the son of Onie and Willie Frank Campbell Faulk, was born in Dothan, Alabama, on January 28, 1942. After graduating from Wicksburg High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961. He served proudly for 32 years, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. Following his Navy retirement, he worked as a bus driver for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools for 16 years.

His life was one of service. In addition to his work, he was happiest helping others and was generous with his time and resources. He was a long-time member of Kempsville Baptist Church in Virginia Beach where he faithfully served. Family and friends were blessed by his willingness to lend a hand.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Martha Faye Faulk. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Cook and her husband Todd of Painted Post, NY; his sister, Lenora Johnson of Andalusia, AL; his sister-in-law, Beth Harrison of Dothan, AL; and his grandsons, Benjamin, Daniel, and Graham Cook.

A committal service with military honors will take place at 2pm on December 6, 2023, at Bath National Cemetery. A memorial service will take place at a later date near his hometown.

The family would like to express special appreciation to each person at Bridges Cornell Heights in Ithaca, NY, who lovingly cared for Cecil in the four years he was a resident there.
