    Forest "Evert" Williams, 90, longtime Kimball resident, died at the Kimball County Manor and went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 18, 2009.
    Funeral services were held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Cantrell Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating. Burial was at the in the Kimball Cemetery.

    Forest "Evert" Williams was born in Leedey, OK on August 19, 1918, the son of Reverend Johnnie and Lillie Williams.
    He was raised and attended school in Leedey. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Pauline Addington on April 29, 1940. His family and friends in Oklahoma always referred to him as "Snooks" and while in Kimball he was known as Evert.
    The couple lived throughout Kansas while he worked in the oil fields. He was a "rig pusher" for Herndon Drilling. They lived in Sterling, Colorado for years before relocating to McCook and then to Kimball. While in Kimball, Evert worked for Neff Trucking, Rocky Mountain Trucking, J & M Trucking and Orbit Drilling. His CB call sign was "ball-headed push". Evert enjoyed volunteering as a baseball umpire and he spent many hours working on the rebuilding Oliver Reservoir. His efforts in working for the betterment of the local community resulted in him being chosen for the "Man of the Year" award in 1982.
    After retirement he worked for Kimball Co-op grocery and the Kimball Public Schools. Evert really enjoyed mowing lawns for the school district and working outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, fishing at Lake Oliver, Lake McConaughy and along rivers for catfish.
    Survivors include his wife Pauline of Kimball; son Jerry (Sharon) Williams of Kimball; daughter Linda Williams of Kimball; grandchildren Lisa (Jamie) Cross of Harrisburg, Brian (Ada) Williams of Kimball, Traci Pleiss of Lincoln, and Noelle Jacquot of Casper, WY., Sandy (Doug) Lukassen of Kimball, DeLynn (Mitzi) Elrod of Portland, Shelia (Scott) Hillius of Cambridge, and Vernon (Carolyn) Elrod of LeMoore, CA; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank, Eli, Paul and Henry and sister Katie and granddaughter LaTisha Chamberlain.

    Forest married Elizabeth Pauline ADDINGTON. Elizabeth was born on 27 Dec 1922 in Dewey Co., Oklahoma; died on 25 May 2009 in Kimball, Kimball Co., Nebraska; was buried in Kimball Cemetery, Kimball, Kimball Co., Nebraska. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
