    Excerpt from "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621": Samuel Drew died after 12 May 1738 when he was jailed for defaulting on his debts and poss. the Samuel Drew, son of John, d. Kingston 1739; son of John and Hannah Churchill Drew.
    Plymouth Court records contain frequent mention of Samuel drew, ship carpenter of Kingston, as he defaulted on his debts and was brought into court for nonpayment. On one known occasion, he was charged with being drunk and fined 5 shillings "for the poor" of Plymouth.
    Not sure about the three children by Ruth - according to "Philip Delano of the Fortune 1621"- Thre is no mention that they provided support for their mother, indicating either an error or that they were all dec. by April 1767 when the selectmen of Kingston asked the Court to order the children and grandchildren to repay them for the support that they had provided. Ruth's support expenses were divided only among her step-sons and step-grandsons.

    Samuel married Ruth DELANO after 1713. Ruth (daughter of Thomas DELANO and Rebecca ALDEN) was born about 1683 in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Massachusetts; died after Apr 1767. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
