    Jeanette H. Brown

    NEGAUNEE - Jeanette H. Brown, 72, of 997 Owaissa Street, Negaunee, and longtime Marquette area businesswoman, entered eternal life Thursday afternoon, October 14, 2004, at marquette General Hospital, folowing a courageous battle with cancer. She had been hospitalized since Saturday evening.

    Born September 11, 1932 in Niagara, Wisconsinm a daughter of Raymond and Clara (Santini) Brown, Jeanette was raised in Niagara and was a 1949 graduate of the Niagra High School. Following graduation, she resided in Iron Mountain, Chicago and in 1955 moved to the harvey-marquette area. Filled with an entrepreneurial spirit, she was one the the founders of Zambon's North Counry Sales, which originated in harvey. She later owned and operated Granny's Custard and was well known for her fine product. For over 18 years she owned and operated the East Park Street Apartments, being involved in every aspect of the operation from helping to prform maintenance duties to management. A hard worker, she met every obstacle and chsllenge in lfe with faith and hope. Jeanette lived for her children and grandchildren, both treasuring them and spoiling them. In her leisure, she enjoyed indoor and outdoor flower gardening, cooking family dinners, especially during the holidays, and loved to shop. She attended the New Life Church, where she participated in Bible sudy groups and also hosted them in her home.

    A loving and devoted mother, proud grandmother, and sister, she is survived by a daughter, Cynthis (Kurt) O'Connell of Appleton, WI; four sons, Richard (Cathy) Zambon of New Boston, Anthon (Jan) Zambon of Belgrade, MY, Nicholes (Barbara) Zambon of Marquette and Eugene (Giner) Zambon of Bark River; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Marcie ) Brown of Niagara, WI; two sisters, Carol Kane of Green Bay, WI and Elaine Mortell residing in Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Dixie Brown of Kingsford; and several nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Brown.

    Friends may call at the New Life Church, Marquette, on Monday October 18, beginning at 11:00am. Fneral services will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Monday aftenoon with Rev. Lew Pzzala, astor, officiatting. A reception for family and friends will follow. Entombment will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum. Escorts will be, grandchildren, Rick, Nathan, Shawn, Jordan,Tim, David, Jesse, and Andy Zambon.
