Age 81 of Wilmington, passed away Friday December 7, 2007 at Heritage Manor in Dwight.
Born July 21, 1926 in Chester, IL, Bud was a son of the late Mark and Mary Martin-Surman. He worked for Mule Hide Roofing Mills prior to serving his country in the US Army during WWII, and was later employed by Northern Illinois Coal Co. and Caterpillar Tractor Co., where he retired as a welder after 28 years of service. Bud was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Survivors include three brothers: Gerald Surman, Pete (the late Katherine) Surman and Kenneth (the late Carol) Surman. Special and devoted sister-in-law: Millie Baskerville-Fleishman, as well as Cleo Surman and Dorothy Surman; dearest friend Frank Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Marguerite (nee Cushing) in 2001; one brother, Ron; two brothers-in-law: Bob Baskerville and James Fleishman and his nephew and Godson Bobby Baskerville.
Visitation will be Sunday December 09, 2007 from 4-7PM and Monday December 10th from 9AM until 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Monday at 10AM in St. Rose Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
