    Notes:

    Name:
Harry Orlando Slosson, 87, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2018. Harry was born on November 12, 1930 in Olympia, Washington to Clarence William Slosson and Nora Mae Dickgieser.
As a youngster in Olympia, Harry attended South Bay Elementary, Washington Junior High and he graduated from Olympia High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Baseball was a pastime, a passion and a potential-profession for Harry. His degree in Education from the University of Washington (Class of 1953) paved the way for his long career as a teacher in the Seattle Public School system.

It was during one of his teaching assignments in Everett, Washington that Harry met his future life-companion, Susan Elaine Post.

Harry and Susan married on October 21, 1961, started their family in Seattle and returned to Olympia in 1976. Harry and Susan devoted their fifty-plus years to raising their four daughters: Marie Slosson, Mary (Chuck) Hallett, Ann (Rob) Stratton and Gail Slosson.

Harry enjoyed his grandchildren: Charles Hallett V, James Hallett, Kendall Stratton and Abel Leyva. The granddogs: Morena, Spencer and Griffey were a constant source of entertainment and joy for him, too.

Harry's life was full and rewarding. After retiring in 1983, Harry continued to immerse himself in analyzing and putting things together. Some of his favorite pursuits were designing, constructing & remodeling family homes and repairing mangled vehicles. Harry couldn't go past a damaged automobile without studying what it might need from the wrecking yards. ?Very little fire damage?, ?it's going to need new airbags, because these deployed in the crash? or ?it went off the bridge and has been underwater, so it'll need to dry out before I can work on it? didn't daunt him. You wouldn't be surprised to hear him say: ?it's going to need both right fenders & both left fenders & a hood & a trunk-lid & a bumper & a grill & seats & a steering wheel... but, the frame's not bent, so I can fix all of that...?

Papa shared his talents with his girls... Whether it was: how to recognize and appreciate the superiority of Spooner strawberries, to how to sketch a to-scale house plan on a piece of scrap paper, to how to start a car without a key, to ?measure twice and cut once?, to how to throw a knuckle-ball and ensure that the stitches spun the right way... Harry was a great teacher.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Curly and Nora, his stepfather Art, his wife Susan and his siblings Helen & Bill.

Harry's daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, sister Nancy Rice, brother Dick Panter, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends will always think of him with fondest, admiration and love.

Remembrances in Harry's honor should go to that which you've methodically studied, researched and examined.

A memorial service for Harry will be held on June 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Road Southwest in Tumwater, WA 98512.

Harry married Susan Elaine POST on 21 Oct 1961 in King County, Washington. Susan was born on 19 Jun 1937 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; died on 22 Jul 2012 in Olympia, Washington. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
