MRS. GUY REMELE DIES LAST WEDNESDAY

Bagley--Mrs. Guy Remele died at 4:30 p.m. last Wednesday in the Dallas county hospital in Perry.

She suffered from cancer and had been in the hospital for several weeks. the body was taken to the Workman funeral home in Perry.

Services were held Friday at 2pm.m from the Methodist church in Bagley, with the Rev. Clyde King, pastor, officiating.

A quartet of Mrs. Hugh Turner, Mrs. Dorene Coil, and Mrs Edna Mae Vaux and Janet Maynard, accompanied by Mrs. Bowene Howick at the organ sand "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sunrise Tomorrow."

Casket bearers were Elmer Gutshall, Carl Anderson, John Anderson, Raymond Remele, Charles Gutshall, and Dewey Remele. Burial was in the Richland Twp. cemetery near Jamaica.

Survivors include her husband; one son Gerald Anderson of Bagley; a daughter Mrs. Francis Gilliland, Bagley; a step-daughter, Mrs. Leland Rector, Perry; a brother Robert Moses, Bagley; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arlys Gilliland, 88, daughter of Oscar and Fannie (Moses) Anderson, was born June 11, 1918 in Herndon, Iowa.

She graduated from Bagley High School In 1935. In 1936, she married Myron "Babe" Gilliland in Bethany, Missouri. To this union five children were born. They made their home in Bagley where they owned a small grocery store. In 1941, they moved to Fort Dodge and lived there until 1951. They moved to Rockwell City for a year before moving back to Bagley in 1952. They also wintered In Florida for many years and she continued to do so following her husband death in 1984.

In 1986, she moved to Perry for two years. She then moved to Panora until 2003. She then moved back to Perry. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, flowers, sewing, crotchet, bowling, and was an avid shopper.

She was a member of the Panora United Methodist Church and the Bagley Garden Club.

Survivors include her children; Kay (Bill) Bullock of Perry, Joan Mantz of Bayard, Max (Vickie) Gilliland of Panora, Jackie (Bill) Wicks of Panora, and Mike (fiancé Linda) Gilliland of Urbandale. Twelve grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded In death by her parents, husband Myron "Babe" Gilliland, two grandchildren Curtis Bullock and Jamie Gilliland, son-in- law Lowell Mantz, and brother Gerald Anderson.

Arlys married Myron Frances GILLILAND in 1936 in Bethany, Harrison Co., Missouri. Myron was born in 1913; died on 31 Jul 1984; was buried in Richland Memorial Cemetery, Herndon, Guthrie Co., Iowa. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
