    Fred Slosson, age 85, of Crown Point, IN, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara of 63 years; children: Renee (Kevin) McNair, Craig (Lori) Slosson and Vannessa Slosson; grandchildren: Ashley (Antonio) Campos, Lauren Slosson, Ian McNair and Kaylie Slosson; great grandchild, Brennan Slosson; sister, Marjorie Albaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents: Willis and Lila Slosson and sister, Helen Chuch. Fred was a member of Bethel Church. He was a self-employed CPA for over 50 years in Crown Point and owner of Colonial Nursing Home from 1977-1988. Fred was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, class of 1949. He received his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College, MBA from the University of Chicago and was an Associate Professor at Indiana University Northwest. Fred proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce, Crown Point Rotary, Board Member of St. Jude and Southlake Businessmen's Fellowship. He enjoyed jogging, reading and fellowship at Bethel Church. Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E 113th Ave/South St, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Bethel Church, 10202 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.     Slosson, Kenneth Irving - age 29, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 1984. Survivors parents, Harold and Irene Slosson of Schererville; one sister, Janice (Raymond Rodda Jr. of Hammond; one nephew, Daniel Rodda; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Funeral services will be held Friday, Jun 1, 1984 at 11 a.m. from the eisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, with Rev. Joseph E. Vamos officiating. Burial, Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m.
    Mr. Slosson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; and was a Senior at Purdue University.

    CROWN POINT, IN - Karen (Seneff) Kuyachich, age 65, of Crown Point, IN passed away on February 24, 2021 at St. Anthony's Medical Center following her hard-fought battle against ovarian cancer.

    Karen graduated from Merrillville High School, Class of 1973, and earned her undergraduate degree from Taylor University. She received her Master's of Science and Education from Indiana University.

    Karen taught at the School City of Hobart for 36 years from Sep '77 ? June '14. Throughout the years, Karen guided, influenced, and shaped numerous students' lives, as well as mentoring new teachers. She was a favorite teacher for many and Karen's commitment to her students and teaching was unmatched. She led numerous extra circular activities, including: computer club, drama club, student council, math club, and crafter's club. She used her love of math to tutor students outside school hours. Additionally, she started an "Adopt-a-Kid" program where her fifth graders mentored second graders and created weekly activities for them. Karen was actively involved with the Hobart Teacher's Association and Indiana State Teacher Association, where she held positions as an association representative, participated on the bargaining team, and was a Representative Assembly delegate. She also held leadership roles as President, Vice-President, and Chief Negotiator and worked diligently on the Master Teacher Growth Program, portfolios as part of Teacher Evaluation, and fought for better retirement benefits. Karen was a fierce advocate for teacher rights and for students. To this day, her students remember her for her joy of teaching, playing at recess with them, and her hugs. She influenced some of them to become the next generation of teachers. Her legacy will live on through her students.

    Karen enjoyed several hobbies outside of school. She coached and mentored many of her daughter's after school sports/activities through the years. She worked on an endless number of craft projects and grew impressive gardens and flowerbeds. She enjoyed watching (and coaching) the Chicago Bears with friends and family, and loved traveling with her late-husband Marco.

    Karen is survived by loving daughter, Laura Elizabeth Anne of Crown Point; mother, Phyllis Seneff of Merrillville; brother, Tim Seneff and niece Elena Seneff of Portland, OR; many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a great number of dear friends.

    Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Marco Kuyachich, her father Joseph E. Seneff, brother John Seneff, and grandparents Joe and Ernestine Seneff and grandparents Milton and Lillian Seneff.

    Visitation will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at the CALUMET PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 7535 Taft St., Merrillville from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be private. The services will be streamed live AT: https://youtube.com/channel/UCJEZIvSFWz1giSMpzVN9gKA

    Cynthia Cindy Gail Bub, age 72 of Collinsville, IL, born March 22, 1952 in Gary, IN, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with her loving family by her side.

    Cindy was a Collinsville High School graduate, Class of 1970. She attained an Associate Degree from Southwestern Illinois College in Physical Therapy and worked at Belleville Memorial Hospital as a physical therapist assistant as well as a therapy assistant for Anderson Hospital serving children with therapy needs in local schools.

    Cindy was good at anything she tried. She was an avid researcher and knew everything about just about anything. She was an incredible cook and loved to feed her family. She could sew and upholster anything. She was everyone?s ?go-to.? She loved to travel and loved to end up anywhere around the beach or pool. Most important to her was spending time with her loved ones ? her husband, Marty of 52 years, and her two kids, Marty Jr. and Aimee, and their families which includes five granddaughters. Her granddaughters affectionally called her ?Zsa-Zsa.? She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marjorie (nee Slosson) Albaugh.

    Surviving are her devoted husband, Martin Bub, Sr., whom she married October 23, 1971; son, Marty Jr. (Laura) Bub of Glen Carbon, IL; daughter, Aimee (Scott) Szymula of Glen Carbon, IL; five granddaughters: Christine Szymula, Lauren Bub, Katie Szymula, Lila Bub and Elizabeth Bub; two brothers: Jim (Claudia) Albaugh and Rick (Jamie) Albaugh; sister, Lori (Dennis) Huddleston; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Memorial visitation will be 10am to 1:30pm on Saturday April 27, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

    Memorial service will be at 1:30pm on Saturday. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL.

    Memorials are suggested to Children?s Hospital or Cardinal Glennon Hospital and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
