    LIFE'S LABORS ENDED
    Demise Of Albert Hulett
    Occurs On Tuesday Morning.
    The community was startled Tuesday forenoon by the report that Mr. Hulett was dead. While it was well known that he was sick, but very few were aware that his condition was considered at all dangerous. He had been sick with an ailment of the stomach, but a short time and the news of his death was a surprise and a shock to everyone.
    Albert Hulett was born at Veteran, N.Y., August 14, 1833, where he lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Hulett, until 1837 when they moved to Ohio. Shortly afterward they moved to Indiana and in 1842 they came to Illinois, settling a few miles south of Rockton which was then in its infancy.
    May 1st 1866, he was united in marriage with Rachel Ann Lake who passed away November 25th, 1876. To them were born seven children, five sons, three of whom died while quite young, and two daughters. The living are Mrs. Mattie Black of Latham Park; Mrs. Lorena Ricker of Sioux City, Iowa, John of Belvidere and Marson whose present address is unknown.
    October 17, 1889 he was married to Mary M. Feakins, who with their one son, Paul M., survives the husband and father.
    Of Mr. Hulett's life and public service many of our readers are better fitted to speak than we, whose acquaintance with him has been of comparatively short duration. Suffice it to state that for five years he held the important office of supervisor of the town of Owen, and since moving into town a few years ago he has served a term as village Trustee and one as Village President. He has always been a great student and his opinion was often in matters requiring careful thought and study. As one who has long known him has said: "He was a kind husband and father, a thoroughly good man and always showed the best side of his character in his family."
    The funeral will be held from the house t 10:30 o'clock to-day, interment taking place at the west side cemetery in Rockford where his first wife and children are buried.

    ROCKTON - Robert P. Hulett, 79, of 400 W. Union St., Rockton, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1993, in Beloit Memorial Hospital.
    He was born May 28, 1914, in Beloit, Wis., the son of Paul and Anna Louis Hulett. He married Jeanne R. Hackshaw on Oct. 19, 1939, in Rockford, Ill.
    After graduating from Hononegah High School, he was employed as a patternmaker and was a supervisor of Products Display, until he retired in 1980. He was a member of Pattern Makers League of North America, and the Rockton Historical Society. He was a former chairman of the Rockton Zoning and Planning Committee for 13 years, and a former member of the Rockton Finance Committee for 10 years. He especially enjoyed traveling, and working on his beautiful lawn and home.
    Survivors include his wife, Jeanne of Rockton, Ill.; two sisters, Ruth (Peter) Hulett Jecklin of Rockton, Ill., and Margaret (Rev. E.O.) Hulett Douglass of Milwaukee, Wis.; one cousin, Mary Jane Bonafede of Beloit; and five nieces.
    He was predeceased by his parents.
    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 1993, in the Daley, Murphy, Wisch and Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, with the Rev. Richard E. Hotchkin of First Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be held in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Cemetery, Janesville, Wis. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be given in his name to the Rockton Historical Society and the First Congregational Church.

    ROCKTON - Ruth Hulett Jecklin, 83, of Rockton, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 25. 1999, in her home.
    She was born May 27, 1916 in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Paul Mason and Anna Louis Hulett, and lived in Rockton all her life. She graduated from Hononegah High School, Class of 1934. Ruth married Peter Edmund Jecklin on Oct. 25, 1942, in the Rectory of St.. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Rockford, Ill. They celebrated 57 years of marriage.
    She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. South Beloit, Ill., the church Altar Society and the Christian Women's Club, the Rockton Women's Club, and the Rockton Historical Society.
    Survivors include her husband, Peter of Rockton; three daughters, Mary Jean Jecklin and husband, Kelley Rea, of Minneapolis, Minn., JoAnn (Richard) Shaefer of Albuquerque, N.M., and Janet Lynn (Edward) Hennessey of Glen Ridge, N.J.; four grandchildren, Adrian Jeckin Schaefer of Albuquerque, Patrick Connor Hennessey, Margaret Ann Hennessey, and Nora Sineed Hennessey, all of Glen Ridge; brother-in-law, Rev. Eugene Douglass of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Jeanne Hulett of Rockton; several nieces and nephews; extended family and caregivers.
    She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Robert Hulett, and a twin sister, Margaret Douglass.
    A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, in St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit, Ill., with Msgr. Thomas Brady officiating. There will be no visitation. Private graveside services will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Stockton, Jo Daviess County, Ill. Daley, Murphy, Wisch and Associates Funeral Home, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wis., assisted the family with arrangements.
    Memorials may be given in her name to St. Peter Catholic Church or the Rockton Historical Society.
