He was a Quaker, a cordwainer and merchant. His farm supplied cheese, meat and corn. Isaac had a grist mill and was an extensive land owner. He laid out roads, erected waterworks and taking much interest in civic affairs, was also a great reader. In 1740 his mind became imbalanced by the eloquence of the famous preacher Whitefield and his son Peleg was appointed his guardian in 1742.
Isaac married Elizabeth SLOCUM on 23 Oct 1707 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Elizabeth (daughter of Rev. Peleg SLOCUM and Mary HOLDER) was born on 3 Feb 1688/9 in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts; died on 18 Aug 1774 in Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
