    ALICE GALLAUDET HOWARD

    Alice Gallaudet Howard, 91, a retired nursing instructor formerly of Moorestown, NJ, died Thursday morning after a prolonged illness at Quarryville Presbyterian Home, where she lived for 10 years.

    She lived in Moorestown for 40 years, previously living i Swarthmore and Ventor, NJ. She taught at West Jersey Hospital and Cooper Hospital, both of Camden, NJ, and was school nurse in the Moorestown public schools.

    She earned a master's degree from Columbia University in 1947.
    She was a 1924 graduate of Wheaton College and a 1928 graduate of Yale University School of Nursing.
    She joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps at Fort Dix, NJ in 1942.
    She was a major and served as chief nurse of the 121st Station Hospital in England and Germany.
    She was a member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church of Quarryville, and a life member of the Disable American Veterans.
    She was a daughter of the late Philip E. and Annie Slosson Trumbull Howard.
    Surviving are a sister, Annie Trumbull Howard of Quarryville; and nieces and nephews.
