Ralph Barre, 85, of Parkersburg, died Monday, July 11, 1994, at Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.

Funeral services at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem with the Rev. Phil Willison officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Barre was born Oct. 30, 1908, in Edwards County, the son of William Robert and Hanna (Lomas) Barre. He married Bertha Doney Jan. 24, 1930 in Olney.

He was a carpenter and a member of the Parkersburg United Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, of Parkersburg; two sons, William Barre, of Pesotum, and Charles Barre, of Monticello; a daughter, Phyllis Harms, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Barre was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Ralph married Bertha D. DONEY on 24 Jan 1930 in Olney, Richland Co., Illinois. Bertha was born on 29 Nov 1909 in Richland Co., Illinois; died on 6 Mar 1997 in Monticello, Platt Co., Illinois; was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Richland Co., Illinois. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Phyllis Lee Patterson Harms passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013.

She was born Dec. 8, 1931 in Olney, Illinois to Ralph and Bertha Barre. She was married in Olney on Jan. 7, 1949 to Merl "Pat" Patterson. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1971. She married Delbert W. Harms I in Seymour on March 29, 1974. He preceded her in death June 21, 1980. A brother, William Barre, died July 30, 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Sue (Bill) Wade; a grandson, Ryan Wade; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Charles (Christy) Barre and several nieces and nephews.

William Ralph Barre, 66, of Pesotum, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his residence.

Visitation at Freese Funeral Home at 407 N. Bourne in Tolono. Funeral services at the funeral home with Reverend Brent Phillips officiating.

Mr. Barre was born on August 10, 1937, in Olney, the son of Ralph and Bertha (Doney) Barre. He married Barbara Vaughn on August 19, 1956, at Assembly of God Church in Olney. She survives.

He was employed at Goodyear Tire Co. in Champaign, Bernies Tire in Urbana and Kelley Vault Co. in Urbana.

Mr. Barre is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Pesotum; three sons, W. Jeffery Barre, of Deep Water, Mo., David Barre, of Monticello and Richard Barre, of Ottumwa, Iowa; four daughters, Cynthia Perry, of Hadley, Pa., Barbara Barre, of Friendswood, Texas, Sonja Reeves, League City, Texas and Joyce Cassell, of Charleston; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Charles Barre, of Monticello; and a sister, Phyllis Harms, of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
