2. | Capt. Paul CLARKE (1.Susannah1) was born on 30 Nov 1751 in Stonington, New London, Connecticut, USA; died on 22 Aug 1806 in Westerly, Washington Co., Rhode Island. Notes:

He and his wife were buried in Clarke Burial Ground, on bank of Pawcatuck River, 3 1/2 miles east of Westerly, near what is now called the Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist Burial Ground. On 29th September, 1788, Paul Clake of Newport, R.I., deeded to Benjamin Clarke, of Stonington, Conn., certain Connecticut land. He enlisted on 27th November, 1776, in Capt. Humphreys' Co. of R.I. Miltia in the battalion commanded by Col. Israel Angel, and became Corporal. He served six years six months and eighteen days, received two honorary badges and was promoted to Captain in 1782.
Paul married Hannah CLARKE in 1770. Hannah (daughter of Rev Joshua CLARKE and Hannah COTTRELL) was born on 4 May 1747 in Rhode Island. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
