General notes from "Descendants of George Rowles": She lived with her husband in Wausau, WI after their honeymoon in Chicago. She loved to play Irish music, and liked her brandy. She kept a bottle under the bed, but it was no secret. Barden Funeral Home, Wausau, WI printed the memorial cards.

Obituary: "Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Theisen, 85, 716 Elm Street, a resident of Wausau for 42 years who died at home this morning at 6 o'clock, will be held at home Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock and at 9 o'clock at St. James Catholic Church. the R. Rev. Msgr. T.E. O'Shaughnessy will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The body is at the Barden Funeral Home and will be taken to the family residence this evening.

Mrs. Theisen was born in Waupun April 2, 1862, and married Frederick Theisen in that city January 10, 1884. He died in September 4, 1743. She was a charter member of the St. James ladies' guild.

Survivors are two sons, Frank E. Theisen, 102 1/2 Jackson St., and William J. Theisen, 716 Elm St.,: two daughters Mrs. Frank A. Barden, 1316 Torney Avenue, and Miss Olive Theisen, 716 Elm Street; two half-brothers, Luke Glendenning, St. Paul and George Glendenning, Seattle WA: 12 grandchldren and 8 great-grandchildren."

And in another obituary:" Pallbearers were Eugene and Patrick Barden, Eugene and Ralph Theisen, Gary reeves and Russell Strachota."

General notes: named for 1/2 uncle John William Theisen who was a wagonmaker in Wausau in the 1880's. Wausau Record- Herald, Sat Oct 30, 1909: "Miss Bertha Shroeder was married to William Theisen last evening at 8:30 o'clock at the home of Joseph Hoppe, 408 Canal St. Mrs. Hoppe and Miss Ella LaMere(?) were the witnesses. Justice Larner performed the ceremony."

OBITUARY: Wausau Daily record-Herald/Merrill Daily Herald, may 27 1971: "William J. Theisen, 83, 201 Seymour St., Wausau, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at a Wausau hospital.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Peterson funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, both in wausau. the Rev. William Nikolai will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

"Mr. Theisen was born Aug. 18, 1887, in Marshfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Theisen. He was married to Bertha Schroeder, who died May 17, 1945. He had lived in Wausau for 67 years and was a retired superintendent at Crestling.

Survivors include two sons, Russell, 210 Seymour St., Wausau and Eugene, Corry, PA; two daughters Mrs. Irene Llliquest, Austin, MN, and Mrs. Gerry Reeves, St. Paul, MN; a sister, Miss Olive Theisen, 201 Seymour St., Wausau; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Valerie Pearce, O.F.M., Capuchin, St. Anthony's Monastery, Marathon was the celebrant. The Revs. thomas Schmidt, O.F.M., Capuchin, also of Marathon and william Nikolai, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, Wausau, were the concelebrants. Pallbearers were Dr. E.A. Mazel married Frank Allen Barden, son of Frank David Barden and Mary Murphy, on 14 Aug. 1918 Ellsworth, Pierce, WI. Frank was born on 1 Jul 1894 in Wausau, Marathon, WI, died on 8 May 1985 in Wausau,WI at age 90, and was buried about 11 May 1985 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wausau, Marathon, WI. They had six children: Eugene Francis, John Joseph "Jack", Margaret Mary Ellen, Patrick Dennis, Thomas Joseph, and James Joseph.
