    • Excerpt from NEHG Reg 1908, Vol 62: Although a Revolutionary War pensioner, his title of Captain came to him as a sailor, for his Revolutionary services were as a private. His pension was granted for 17 months' service in New Jersey troops. He enlisted at Lyme, Conn., and served under Capt. Chapman and Col. Ledyard.
