  	He lived at various times in (at least) Ionia, St. Louis, Saginaw, Jackson, Adrian, and Carson City, all in Michigan, and in Wilmington, Ill., near Chicago. From 1878 to 1882 he lived in the Soldiers' Home in Dayton, Ohio. However, neither he nor his second wife has been found in the indexes to the 1850-1880 censuses on Ancestry.com. As Sgt. William H. Waterbury, he was enumerated in Elyria, Lorain Co., Ohio, in the 1890 Veterans Schedule, as enlisted in the 3rd Michigan Cavalry 9 Oct. 1861, discharged 2 Sept. 1865. He had enlisted at age 33 in Co. M, 3rd Michigan Cavalry, at East Saginaw, Gratiot Co., Michigan, and he applied for a pension on 16 Sep. 1878. He was living in Elyria on 2 October 1890, when he swore an affidavit in connection with the estate of his brother David Waterbury, who had died recently in Darien, Conn., naming his brothers and sisters as David Waterbury, deceased, Augustus T. Waterbury, deceased, and Mary E. Austin, deceased. [1]
