- In the distribution of his father's estate, 20 June 1763, he had a double portion, as the eldest son. he seems to have moved, with his mother, to the adjoining town of Southeast, NY, where he settled, with his wife Abigail, whose maiden name has not been reported. Tradition says that he died not many years after his marriage, leaving only one son, and that his widow married a second husband, named ? Ganung, and had one daughter, Hannah Ganung, who married Benjamin Ruscoe, and had a son, Stephen Ruscoe, who married Phebe Ballard and was living in Danbury, Conn., in Feb. 1874. [1]
