      James E. Peet Spent Lifetime in Halcott
      James E. Peet, a lifelong resident of Halcott Center, died Saturday in the Margaretville hospital, which he had entered Friday.

      Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the late residence. Elder Arthur Warren of Maryland conducted the Old School Baptist services. Burial is in the Halcott Center cemetery.

      Mr. Peet is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Slauson Peet, a son, Victor L. Peet of Miami, and a granddaughter.

      Mr. Peet was the son of Horace and Marita Sweet Peet and was born Nov. 11, 1891 in Halcott Center.

      In addition to carpentry and contracting he had operated The Maples boarding house in Halcott for 43 years.
