- Calvin Weinholtz Williams was born 19 December 1924 in Brooklyn, NY. He died peacefully 24 April 2010 at his home in Austin, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Weinholtz and Carolyn Slawson Williams and his brother, Charles H. Williams. He is survived by his wife of fify-five years, two children, their spouses and four grandchildren. As a boy he became an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. For many years he worked dilegently for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and in 1986 he retired as a communications engineer. He was shop steward for the Communication Workers of America and an active volunteer with the Telephone Pioneers who was devoted to repairing Talking Books for the blind and reading impaired. He ran the sound-board for the Beethoven Sangerunde-Verein for a number of years. He was a member of Coker United Methodist Church where he helped to prepare the weekly newsletter. Cal, as he was often called, will be missed by his family and many friends.
Burial: body donated to medical science
Specifically: Ashes remain with his family.
