      SANTA FE - Mr. George "High Pockets" Pruitt passed from this life Sunday afternoon at his home.

      Born October 24, 1929, in. Countyline, Oklahoma, Mr. Pruitt had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1963, previously of Dickinson and Texas City. He was a member of the Baptist faith, had been an ironworker for 25 years with Local No. 135 and dump truck driver before retiring. He was past president and member of FOE-Aerie 3598, member and organizer of FOEAerie 3789 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and whittling.

      Preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Pruitt; son, John A, Pruitt; daughter, Kathy J. Davis; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

      Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy; son, Amos Clifford Pruitt of Santa Fe; daughters and son-in-law, Mad Beth and Robert S. Moore of Belle Plaine, KS and Donna Lea Loveless of Hitchcock; 9 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.

      Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday
      at Grace Memorial Park with Pastor Alan R. Splawn officiating.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Paul Beall, Phillip Forecade, Chuck Matlock, Dale Morgan, Brian Parrish and Jim Weaver.

      Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
      home, 10412 State Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.

      Mr. Pruitt's family would like to extend a special thank you to Jana DeMarco, Paulette Gochnour and everyone at the Hospice Care Team.
