Name |
Richard MANNING [1] |
- Richard Manning, the ancestor of the American family which early settled at Salem and Ipswich Mass., was baptized as an infant, in 1622, in St. Patrick's (or Petrox) Parish, Dartmouth, County Devon, England. He resided there, and, at a date not known to the present writer, died there, according to accepted reports. What effort, if any, has been made to gain additional information concerning him, at Dartmouth, is unknown. He married and reared a family there, all of whom, with probably one exception, came to Massachusetts. The maiden name of his wife was Anstice Calley. [1]
