    • Mr. Cogshall spent his early life upon a farm and attended the village school at Mount Vernon, Ill. He afterwards went to school at Sparta, Michigan, and was graduated from the Sparta high School with honors in 1887. He taught in several district schools with success. In 1892 he entered the Michigan State Normal College from which he was graduated in 1895 with the full four-year life certificate course. He was superintendent of the Zeeland Schools for three years. He went to Grand Rapids in 1898, where he became principal of the Turner Street Public School. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M., and also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. [1]
