Name |
David FANCHER [1] |
- David Fancher, believed to have been the youngest brother of Catherine, William, Hannah, John and Richard Fancher, was living in Stamford, Conn., as early as 1730. His wife's first name was perhaps SARAH as two of David's sons named their daughters Sarah.
David Fancher witnessed a will in Stratford, Conn., in 1746 and (Stratford Land Records, vol. 10, p. 225) took title to land in Gallows Brook, Stratford, on 8 Sep. 1753. He probably went to Waterbury, Conn., in May 1762, where he went on a probate bond for 200 pounds. (Woodbury Probate Records)
On 2 Feb. 1742/3 David "Fansher" contributed five pounds toward building a new original Episcopal church in Stratford, believed to be the first episcopal church to be built by funds in this way. [1]
