• Name	John PABODIE  [1]
  	He came to Plymouth in New England on the ship "Planter' in 1635, and became a freeman 7 March 1636/7. He received a grant of 10 acres of land on the Duxborrow side lying betwixt the land of William Tubs and Experience Mitchell. It was bounded on the southwest by the sea and on the east by the Blew Fish River. He also had a 30 acre tract of land at North River. His will, proved 27 April 1667: "In and upon the 16th of July in the yeare of our Lorde 1649, I john Paybodie of Duxbrook in the Colonie of New Plymouth, planter being in perfect health and soud in memory, God be blessed for it, doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament in maner and forme as followeth: My soule to God that that gave it hopeing to be saved by merit of Christ my blessed Saviour, Redeemer, and as for my worldly goods as followeth: Item. I give and bequeath unto Thomas my eldest son one shilling. I give and bequeath unto Francis Paybodie my second son one shilling. I give and bequeath unto William Pabodie my youngest son one shilling. I give and bequeath unto Annis rouse my daughter one shilling. Item. I give and bequeath unto John Rouse and son of John rouse my lands at Carswell in marshfield after my Wife's decease. Item. I give unto John Pabodie son of William my lott of lant att the new Plantation. Item. I give all the rest of my goods that are mine living and dead unto my wife Isabel Paybodie whom I make my sole executrix and all the legacies are to be paid by William Paybody my youngest son, when they shall be demanded..."
