His obituary reads:
Louis Edward Schnegg, 66, St. Clairsvile, farmer, died this morning at 10:15 at his home following an illness of the past year and a half. He was born June 19, 1889 in Belmont County, a son of Christian and Mary Hendershot Schnegg. He had resided at St. Clairsville for the past six years, moving there from Stewartville. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Loeta Fraley Schnegg; two sons, George Paul of St. Clairsville, and Floyd E. Schnegg of Colerain; four sisters, Mrs. Freda Durigg of Shadyside, Mrs. Lotta Hendershot of Beallsville, Mrs. Luella Roth of Bridgeport, and Mrs. Alice Hendershot of Bellaire. The body was taken to the Toothman Funeral Home at Jacobsburg, and Friday afternoon will be returned to the family residents of St. Clairsville. Brief services will be held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 1 followed by final rites in the Grandview Christian Church at Clover Ridge, Rev. John Torp of the St. Clairsville Christian Church will officiate and burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery.
