GEORGE A. PRIEST (1937)
A paralytic stroke on Sunday, May 16, caused the death of George Albert Priest, 66, at his home about 2:00 am last Friday morning.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm by the Rev. J Charles Richards in the Christian Church. Interment, in charge of the Palmer Funeral Home, was made here.
Mr. Priest, who had spent his entire life in New Martinsville, had been in failing health for a long time and his strength was not capable of overcoming the effects of the stroke. He was a member of the Christian church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Belle Priest; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Connor, of Warwood and Mrs. Garnet Smith of Long Beach, California; three brothers, Curtis, John and Frank, all of New Martinsville; and his mother, Mrs. Caroline Priest. His father, the late G.W. Priest, died in 1917, and a brother Walter, also preceded him in death.
