    • George Macy was one of the original settlers of Cohameet (Indian) in 1637, Taunton, in 1639, and in about twenty years became one of the leading men and officials and a large land holder. He was Lieut. of the first company in 1665, for years, Captain in 1690, and the County Magistrate. He was five years representative of the town at Plymouth "General Court," the "Pilgrim Court." He was also chairman of the board of selectmen 16 years. He died Aug. 16, 1693, leaving widow Susannah and five daughters. Widow Susannah was made Executrix. [1]
