  	SUSSEX - Hazel Ortt, 85, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Ortt was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Embry) Shauger. She was a founding member of the Sussex Wesleyan Church, to which she belonged for more than 50 years. She held prayer meetings and Bible study at her home for more than five years. Mrs. Ortt loved art work and enjoyed painting. She also played the piano and violin and wrote poems. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest, in 2004, and her brothers, Herman Shauger and Forest Howard. Mrs. Ortt is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Prout and her husband, Tom, of Sussex, and Sharon Space and her husband, William, of Jefferson; her brother, Thomas Shauger, of Sussex; her sister, Mildred Smith, of Sussex; her two grandchildren, Matthew Prout, of Branchville, and Ashley Prout, of Sussex. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Hope Church, 1441 Glenwood Road (Route 565), Wantage. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860.
