- He married second widow Sarah Foss. In 1769, age about 74 he deposed that he lived with Col. John Gilman in Exeter from ages 9 to 13. He was a prominent citizen, an innholder and a deacon of the Congregational Church in tat part of Newmarket now the town of Newfields (Hist. Newfields and Libby), and d. there 7 Mar. 1770 (N.H. Gazette). His will, probated 28 Mar 1770, mentions his living sister Catherine Quimby and his deceased brothers and sisters by name, as well as his widow and others. He bequeathed a handsome silver communion cup to the church. (NHSP and Hist. Newfields). It is stated in Folsom Fam. that the Joseph Judkins who married Abigail Folsom was the father of Joseph who married Sarah Foss. The dates of his marriage to Abigail and her death are not recorded nor that of his marriage to Sarah, but in his death notice in N.H. Gazette it is stated: "Leaving his widow, his second wife". Moreover, the children of Joseph and Abigail given by Folsom are those recorded in the will as brothers and sisters, and are the children of Joel(2) (NHVR and Libby) [1]
