  	Thomas Joscelin married Maud Hide, daughter and coheiress of Sir John Hide, Sawbridgeworth co. Herts, Knight by his wife Elizabeth (Sudley) who was daughter of John, Lord Sudley of co. Gloucester. By the marriage of Thomas Joscelin with Maude Hide, the Manor of the Hide or Hide Hall as it was later called, passed into the possession of the Joscelin family, who held it for almost six hundred and fifty years, until, in 1897 it passed by will to Sophia, widow of the fifth Earl of Roden who had did without male issue.
