    • He was a Selectman in Newton in 1741.

      His will, (Middlesex Probate, No. 7143) dated May 1, 1760, gives to wife, Hannah, household goods, except those given to daughter, Patience Hammond, all corn and grain in house at time of his decease, use of two cows to be kept for her on homestead, one third of all grain and produce of the farm from year to year, "also my Riding Chair" and disposal of a horse to be kept on farm for her, cider, apples and firewood to be cut and laid at her door. "I give her the liberty to have a swine to go and feed about my house during her natural life." Also use of part of house.

      Nov. 29, 1760, citation of Hannah Green, Patience Hammond, John Hammond and his wife, Lydia, signed by Ephraim Hammond.
      Dec. 1, 1760, satisfaction of dau. Hannah, signed with her X mark. Bond of Ephraim Hammond with John Clarke and Eleazer Chamberlain as sureties. [1]
