- Nathaniel Fancher born in Stamford, Conn., 30 May 1742 and was probably living as late as 1820 in Greenville, NY, with his son Nathaniel N. He married, first in Poundridge abt. 1763, AMY VAN FLEET, daughter of Abraham and Sarah (Brown) Van Fleet, born 1 Aug. 1744 and died in Luzerne County, Penn., 31 Mar 1832, the wife of James Armstrong; married, secondly, DOROTHY ?, who was baptised, an adult, the wife of Nathaniel Fancher, 11 May 1766 in the South Salem Presbyterian Church, a month before her twin daughters were born. She was living in Greenville in 1800.
nathaniel Fancher was elected a constable in Greenville, Greene County, NY, at the first town meeting 5 April 1803. he purchased a 4oo acre farm in Greenville Center (a part of this farm was owned by A.C. Fancher in 1883). In 1812 he kept a hotel in Greenville Center, but others were in possession by 1830. The census of 1820 showed a male over 45 years living in Greenville, which may have been Nathaniel Fancher.
Nathaniel Fancher served as a private in the company of Captain Lewis, Fourth Westchester County militia, regiment of Col. Thaddeus Crane. [1]
