- Rev. Stephen was driven out by the Indians in 1748. He removed to Exeter, NH, thence to Chatham, Cape Cod. In 1750, where he was installed and lived the remainder of his life. During the period of ministry in Chatham, he admitted to the church one hundred and thirty-five members and baptized six hundred and eight-one persons.
