    • Excerpt from Royal Families Americans of Royal and Noble Ancestry Vol. One, Gov. Thomas Dudley: When he heard of the Lexington battle in 1775, "Dudley was fired with an ardent zeal in the cause of his country. He rushed from the quiet of home, and gave himself, body and soul and fortune, to the work of the Revolution." He was chosen 11 June 1776 by the New Hampshire Assembly as one of three to draw up the Declaration of Independence. This Committee presented a Declaration of Independence that was approved by the Assembly on 15 Jun 1776, "one of the procursors of that made in Philadelphia the next month".
