He attended Kings Avenue Baptist Church, was a member of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, the Tampa Board of Realtors and was a certified life underwriter. Survivors include his wife Dorothy; two sons, Richard W. Jr. and Larry A., both of Tampa; three brothers, John Thomas, Walter Hill and Lloyd Ray, all of Montgomery; a sister Carolyn Hussey, Largo, and his father Walter C., Largo.
