- Elder or Deacon Henry Cobb came to this country from Southwark, Kent, England, in 1630, and located first at Plymouth, Mass., where he remained about seven years, afterwards moving to Scituate. he was deacon of the church and pastor of the church at Barnstable, Mass., in 1645, where he spent the remainder of his days. He was also deputy five terms. [1]
