      Charles was born March 25, 1913, in Marion, Iowa, to Floyd and Hazel Slauson. He married Orva M. Krejci on Oct. 24, 1934, in Marion. She died May 18, 1988.
      Charles was chief engineer at Iowa Electric Light and Power in Cedar Rapids until accepting the chief engineering position in Winnetka, Ill., where he retired in 1983. He was a former member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids Elks Club and Cedar Rapids Goodfellows and past president of Indian Creek Country Club. [1]
