  	New London - Kenneth D. Nunes of 41 Gordon Court, passed peacefully from this earth surrounded by his family on Friday, May 11, 2012. Kenneth was born in New London, on Oct. 3, 1950. He was a lifelong resident of New London. Kenny served in the Armed Forces and did two tours in Vietnam as an Airborne Army Ranger. He retired from the State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Department as a motor vehicle inspector. He loved fishing and watching the New York Yankees. Kenny loved motorcycles and was a retired member of the Branded Ones Motorcycle Club. He is survived by his only son, Kenneth Arthur Nunes Jr. of New London; his extended family including a brother, Frederick Nunes of Seminole, Fla.; sisters, Cheryl Sanders of Quaker Hill, Janet Nelson of Hamden, and Patty Nunes of New London; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur A. Nunes and his mother, Gloria (Slate) Nunes. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
