      On Tuesday morning last, John Farren, a west-bound engineer, was fatally injured while passing the coal tipple at Millwood. It is supposed that he put his head out of the cab window and was struck by one of the large timbers of the tipple, as his fireman found him lying on the floor of the cab unconscious, with a large cut on the side of his head. His skull was fractured, and although he received the best surgical attention, he never recovered consciousness, but died on Saturday last at his residence in Derry.

      Deceased was born in Washington township, this county, and was a brother of the late Charles Farren, of this place; he was thirty-five years old and leaves a widow and family. His remains were brought to this place on Tuesday and interred in Oakland Cemetery.
