- Mr. Trumbull was a merchant in company with his father. He left New London for the West Indies on 23 Dec 1731, and five days after "was not seen or heard of." His brother Jonathan Trumbull became the famous "War Governor" of Conn., and a cousin, John Trumbull, was the Revolutionary poet.
Colonial Records. Joseph Trumbull was commissioned Quartermaster of the Troop in Windham County, Oct. 1730. [1]
