- He lived in "West Point" in the part of New Kent County that in 1691 became King and Queen County and then King William County in 1792. John served as justice and sheriff of King and Queen County in 1692 and as burgess from the newly formed KingWilliam County from 1702-1706. He was named justice and colonel and commander-in-chief of the Virginia militia of King William County on 12 Mar 1701/2, where he owned 1,800 acres there in 1704. John and Judith had one child only.
