    Daniel A. Talmadge, age 66, of Gloversville, died Tuesday morning, March 31, 2015, at his home with his family at his side. His death followed a long courageous battle with cancer.

    He was born June 24, 1948, in Homestead, Florida, the son of the late Daniel and Mary Cook Talmadge. He served his country faithfully in the Army as a paratrooper for three years, one of which he served in Vietnam.

    Dan was employed by Frontier Communications of Johnstown for over 42 years. He was a member of the Fulton County Car Club, Concordia Club and was a former member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge. He loved all cars, especially muscle and classic cars, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

    He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane M. Almy Talmadge of Gloversville; three children, Danielle A. Graham (Scott) of Gloversville, Daniel A. Talmadge (Lissa) of Gloversville and Dana A. Talmadge (Erin) of Glens Falls. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Cooper Graham and Lauren Talmadge. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deanna Marie Talmadge.

    A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
