    Notes:

    Name:
    Death of Earl O. Beardslee
Earl C. Beardslee was born on the farm in Kelly Corners, N. Y., now owned by Lewis Heitman, on November 7, 1874, and he died at the Beardslee home in Halcottville, on Friday morning, October 5, 1928, making him nearly 54 years of age. Mr. Beardslee was stricken down with the influenza during the wartime epidemic of it but recovered from it, he thought, completely. Nevertheless he was stricken with a relapse which turned into a baffling case of paralysis, that fooled the doctors and everything that medical skill could do could not cure it. It was diagnosed as shaking palsy, a very rare disease. During the nine years that he has been an invalid in this hopeless condition, his wife, Hattie M. Beardslee, was very devoted in her care for him, until last June 19, she was taken from this earth with a mysterious attack of blood poisoning. After her demise, Mr. Beardslee was taken care of by his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Humphrey, who moved here from Grand Gorge to take care of him. After his wife's death, he did not seem the same and it is thought that the shock of her death was too much for him as he declined steadily thereafter and died last Friday as stated. All that medical skill could do was to no avail.

After his marriage to Hattie M. Slauson about twenty-seven years ago, he built the home on Maple Street where he died and working at his trade of plumber and coal dealer in this village, he passed many prosperous and happy years until he was stricken down with the flu about nine years ago, which led to his ultimate death.

The funeral was held from the family home in this village on Maple Street on Monday afternoon at one thirty, the Elder George Ruston of Kelly Corners being in charge. Interment in the family plot in Kely Corners beside wife.?Halcottville Cor.

Earl married Hattie M. SLAUSON about 1901. Hattie (daughter of Cyrus SLAUSON and Mary FAULKNER) was born on 10 Jan 1879 in Halcottville, New York; died on 19 Jun 1928 in Halcottville, New York; was buried in Kelly Corners Cemetery, Halcottsville, Delaware Co., New York.
