William Strode, Knt., of Newnham, Sheriff of Devonshire, M.P. for Plympton, Recorder of Plymouth, son and her, was born on 1 Feb. 1561/2. He was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1580.

William Strode, Esq., of Newnham in Plympton St. Mary, co Devon, is the son and heir of Richard Strode, of Newnham, by Agnes, daughter of John Milliton, of Meavy, co Devon. They have seven sons and five daughters.

Gregory Cromwell, K.B., only son and heir of Thomas Cromwell, Baron Cromwell, Chancellor of the Exchequer, by Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Wykes, of Putney, Surrey, Shearman. He was educated at Cambridge. He was, some five months after his father's death, created Baron Cromwell on 18 Dec 1540.

Gregory married Elizabeth SEYMOUR before 1538. Elizabeth (daughter of John SEYMOUR, Knt. and Margery WENTWORTH) died before 9 Jun 1563; was buried in Basing. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
