Evelyn C. Doty, 73, Newton, died at 7:03 p.m., May 3, 1988 in Richland Memorial Hospital.

Burial will be in Maple Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Doty was born June 26, 1914, in Richland County, the daughter of Orin Foster and Clara May (Webber) Worrell. She married Orien L. Smith in 1930 and he died in 1948. She then married Clarence H. Doty in 1962, and he survives.
She was a member of the Olney Church of Christ.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Ronald Smith and wife Sandra, Rochester, Minn., and Keith Smith and wife Karen, Olney; five daughters, Mrs. Howard (Doris) Sink, Auburn, Ind., Mrs. James (Sally) Weber and Mrs. Robert (Mary Ann) Miller, both of Newton, Mrs. Fred (Sandy) Brandt, West Salem and Mrs. Robert (Diana) Hufford, Frankfort, Ky.; a sister, Hazel Parsons, Sumner; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, a son, a sister and two brothers.
