In her Autobiography, Mrs. Laura Dickey refers to three of her Father, Samuel Anderson's brothers, Her Uncles John, Elijah and Cyrus K. Anderson. Uncle Cyrus, the youngest of all her Uncles, was a man of more than ordinary ability and attainments. While young, he had chosen a collegiate course rather than the "of age patrimony" which his elder Brothers had received, and he fortunately obtained both. He married a Daughter of Judge Cloyes (Sheriff Ezra Cloyes,) and afterward moved to Buffalo, NY., where for several successive years he filled offices of great trust, was County Clerk, Treasurer, etc. And it speaks well for his private life that after the death of his first wife, Caroline Cloyes, in due course of time, he married another of the Judges Daughters, Mariah M. Cloyes. Later, he had move to Chicago (The Garden City of the West, as it was then called), and was living with his third wife, whose maiden name was Harriet Wilbur.
Her Uncles John and Elija, with were also living there, with their Wifes (Lydia and Matilda). Uncle John having bought a farm about eight miles from the court house, and Uncles Cyrus and Elijah occupies a house in the city.
Cyrus married Harriet WILBER in 1839 in Buffalo, New York. Harriet (daughter of John WILBUR and Mary MORGAN) was born in abt. 1822 in New York; died in 1860 in Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Editor's note: After receiving an e-mail from Cassandra Headrick regarding her Harriet Wilber, I have concluded that her Harriet and my Harriet are one and the same. After doing research through the census, I have found that many of the Wilber family stayed very close. The families seemed to intermingle quiet a bit. Until something comes along to disprove this, I am going to continue assuming that my Harriet Wilber is the Harriet that married Cyrus K. Anderson.
