  1. 1.  George STILLMAN, Sr. was born about 1654 in Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire, England; died on 17 Nov 1728 in Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.

    George left England and settled at Hadley, Massachusetts. It is thought that his first wife had already died in England, although some have suggested that she died at sea. He is known to have arrived in Hadley between 1685 and 1690.
    He signed his will on 25 July 1728 and it was proved on 27 November 1728. It mentions his wife Rebecca and son Benjamin along with others. The inventory of his estate was taken on 14 January 1728-1729 byDavid Goodrich, Benjamin and Martin Smith. The value was given as L4, 436-12-06.

    George married Rebecca SMITH in 1686 in Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Rebecca (daughter of Lieut.
