Eleazer Slosson of the 4th generation m. Susannah Lucy Benedict; they lived in several places and finally settled in grand Isle, Chittenden County, Vermont, where he died. There was a time when the State Road, from Lucius Heaton's to Doty's and the Slosson Road from the east state road to Ichabod Ransoms was all peopled with the Slossons, with the one exception of Deacon Phineas Doane. In the 1830's there was a great exodus of Slossons for the west, tradition saays that thirty-five went in one year and this is fair to believe considering the number of large families in the locality. the descendants of both Thomas and David went west, the descendants of William mostly remained in or around Chazy."
