(Tory) for Harwich 1714-15; died testate at Epsom, Surrey, 16 Apr. 1715.

Gen. 1696, major Gen. 1704; died testate aged seventy-seven on 21 Feb. 1714/5, buried St. Pancras, Middlesex.

    Cecil (or Cecilius) Calvert, 2nd Lord Baltimore, son and heir of George Calvert, Knt., 1st Lord Baltimore, of Danby Wiske, North Riding, co. York, member of the Virginia Company, by Anne, daughter of George Mynne, of Hertingfordbury, co. Hertford. He was baptised at Boxley, Kent, on 2 Mar 1605/6, being named after his godfather, the Earl of Salisbury. He entered Trinity College, Oxford university, in 1621, and was admitted to Gray's Inn on 8 Aug 1633. As heir to the charter promised his father, he promoted, though in England, the settlement of Maryland.
